It's citrusy but sweet and floral- I can definitely tell that this perfume isn't for everyone, but it is a perfume for me! This golden unicorn that would bulge any little girls heart, including those of us who have been grown women for some time. The heart is fascinating with hints from floral notes, raspberry and praline, while the base is charming with hints from Himalayan cedar and cypress. The airy-watery element emerged slowly, and by the time I'd been wearing Mermaid for two hours (it has excellent staying power for a fruity floral! While this is not the majestic, forest dwelling beast of Les Nez's "The Unicorn Spell", nor is it the sophisticated fruit-and-woods magic of "Enchanted Forest" by the Vagabond Prince, it is -- as the carousel packaging suggests - a carnival ride, carousel unicorn.

it had turned partially sand-y and driftwood-y, with a peppery note and perhaps some very muted ambergris. FANTASIA MERMAID settles into a skin scent fairly quickly and has a soft sillage that stays close to the skin.My mother says it smells like mothballs to her, which I can't understand at all; and a friend of mine says it smells like orange soda without the sugar.

It doesn't feel like an every day perfume, I wouldn't wear it to the office, but this ocean side vibe makes it feel like it is more for a special occasion.I was in the boutique for a while (they were having a Fashion Week party with drinks and music, and I spent a while browsing) and I was confused (but pleased) when I sniffed my arm later in the evening and smelled the more woody-sandy part! I wear it when I want something a little different, and on me it lasts quite a long while, so I think it would be a fun one to wear in the summer. The honey gives this perfume warmth, this perfume isn't syrupy due to the honey, and I was afraid of that. Anyway got home and I love the pretty mermaid bottle and how the turquoise liquid in the bottle looks like the sea. The longevity and sillage aren't amazing but I think this perfume could get overwhelming so I'm happy that it isn't suffocating.

Here's one from Anna Sui, and it's fit to be part of this seasonal "wave" (hah) for more than one reason: it's a flanker to 2017's Fantasia, named Fantasia Mermaid. Blind bought this for my young daughter because she was trigger happy with my expensive perfumes…(screams internally)…and my goodness what a beautiful perfume it is. Another mermaid themed fragrance that I personally haven’t tried yet, but that seems promising, is Ariel by DefineMe. Update: scrubbed his off with hand soap and warm water, put rubbing alcohol on a swab and scrubbed some more, then sprayed a different scent on my arm. With the beautiful bottle and how much I like the scent, I am very happy with the purchase and I am still keeping the empty bottle as decoration (I wish more bottle look like this).If you just closed your eyes, took a deep breath, and smiled, then you need this fragrance in your life immediately. It reminds me of the manly sidekick to Jessica Simpson's 'Vintage Bloom', as they have a similar lemony/citric note, where Jessica's are more sweet and sugary, this one is more cedar/cypress and therefore more like a manly cologne. The drydown wasn't as bad, but I still was afraid that the scent might irritate others around me, because the sillage is strong.
